Mastectomy Garden
“Bodies can be beautiful this way too” is what Julia wants other women facing breast cancer to know! This art is full of symbolism, created after her double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. She has made big personal changes, and now says “cancer saved my life.”
Body-Positive Therapeutic Workshops
A body-positivity therapy workshop, with bodypainting to deepen the personal work! A collaboration with Lauren Reppy, an MFT specializing in body acceptance work, we did this weekend workshop where the participants’ own journaling informed what I painted on them. My favorite part was when each person stepped out to show off their art to each other, and they each glowed!
Pre-Mastectomy Cancer Warrior
This mastectomy project started as a “tribute to her breasts,” as I understood it, when this client was surprised to learn she had breast cancer and would need surgery very soon. It grew to be a deeper project…
